The latest version of Chrome is 12, and if installed from the Google
website, should auto-update (I'm not sure about the version in the
default repositories). Software center will attempt to handle any apt://
requests, however Adobe is referring to a package that is not in your
repositories and that is what is triggering the problem.

To see if this affects all packages (which would be a bug) can you
please attempt to install a package that is in the repositories from
your web browser using apt://<insert valid package name here> and then
tell us whether that fails or not.

Can you please also find out the exact name of the package that the
Adobe website is trying to install via apt?
