This is a quick fix too. Add a file somewhere in your $PATH (for example, ~/bin and add ~/bin to your $PATH variable). call it xdg-open: #!/bin/sh exo-open "$1" Make it executable with chmod +x bin/xdg-open Log out and log in again This works for gnome-do.
