Public bug reported:

With kernel version 3.0.0-5 system boots with no problems. After
installing 3.0.0-6 it stops during boot with blinking cursor (X never
starts), HDD seems to be heavily accessed but the only thing I can do is
send ctr-alt-del which causes successful reboot. Recovery mode doesn't
work either.
