ok, sorry for misunderstanding
first: the normal behaviour
type circumflex and one character, for example: ^9
the combination of ^ and 9 is automatically changed into 9 (in superscript 
character)

second: the "bug"
type circumflex and minus: ^-
nothing appears instead of the superscripted minus (-) character

For example, if you want to write "50 g per square meter", you type: 50 g.m^-2
but it gives: 50 g.m2
-> nothing is superscripted and the minus is disappeared
