I'm using Gnome as window manager (i do not use unity, i prefer "ubuntu
classic"). Whenever i choose the "standard" or "no effects" version the problem
persists.
I'm currently forced to use emerald as my window decorator (due to this bug
which makes working with windows much harder) but previously i was seeing the
process "unity-windows-decorator" as my window decorator program. I remember
that running the decorator again with --replace option caused a weird effect.
The decoration was fine with not maximized windows, and on maximized windows
the decoration was not present, but the bottom (yes, the bottom) of maximized
window was constantly changing back&forth by 30 pixels or so (which is aprox
the same as titlebar height, but the effect was appearing on the bottom of
maximized window). This effect also caused X to use 100% CPU.
Let me know if i can help some more.
