the usage might be due to valgrind, having a log with an obvious leak would be required to work on it. Do you steps to trigger the bug? Does it happen all the time? Could you try to remove an applet and note if things are better, maybe it's due to one of them configured on your desktop? Do you use any which is not on the default desktop?
