This is because there are two backends that can be used with your hp printer, 
you should select the HPLIP entry since this allows printer maintenance like 
cleaning your cartridges with HPLIP Toolbox.
Confirming that it would be nice to have an indication that the HPLIP entry is 
recommended, it should also be preselected so a user can just click next and 
have the recommended backend installed.
Reassigning to gnome-cups-manager.
gnome-cups-manager is no longer maintained upstream and will be replaced with 
printerdrake which already solves this issue.
