Public bug reported:
Ubuntu 10.10, Nikto 2.1.4 (installed using Oneiric package, 1:2.1.4-1).
$ sudo nikto -update
...
ERROR: Unable to open '/var/lib/nikto/docs/CHANGES.txt' for write: 1 at
/var/lib/nikto/plugins/nikto_core.plugin line 1777.
Minor annoyance causing an error message at the end of updating. Sorry
for not checking using the pertinent Ubuntu version, might not even be a
problem in Oneric, but guessing that the directory would be still
missing. Creating the directory ("$ sudo mkdir /var/lib/nikto/docs")
lets it finish the updating.
