Language selector allows to switch language and other locale options, however
shell (any shell) is not affected, it switches language only:
mati@puderniczka ~> echo $LC_COLLATE
mati@puderniczka ~> echo $LC_COLATE
mati@puderniczka ~> echo $LC_ALL
mati@puderniczka ~> echo $LC_COLLATE
mati@puderniczka ~> echo $LC_CTYPE
mati@puderniczka ~> echo $LANG
