Binary package hint: vbetool
On my laptop I installed Kubuntu Feisty with vbetool 1.0-0ubuntu1
Doing a suspend calls 'vbetool dpms off'
this command (also when called from a konsole) just takes CPU and never
returns. (and doesn't seem to do anything visually)
I can control-c it just fine.
