Public bug reported:

In Kubuntu Feisty I use the icon on my taskbar to software-suspend. (the
battery icon).
After switching to a terminal nothing happens and my Toshiba Techra A8 machine
just keeps on running.

Helpful details;
* vbetool dpms off hangs, so I removed that from the scripts.
* I can just use alt-F7 to switch to X11 and authenticate in the screensaver
after which I can (kind of) continue working.
* Using 'echo 3 > /proc/acpi/sleep' makes my machine suspend. Unfortunately I
need to reboot as it doesn't wake up ;)

** Affects: powermanagement-interface (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
