Hi, can you follow the steps described at "Boot Options" section from
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelBoot page, and report back here
where it's freezing? A picture with messages showing where it stops can
help finding the problem.
When following the steps 4 and 5 from that page, it misses that you also
should replace "set gfxpayload=$linux_gfx_mode" line with "set
gfxpayload=text" on natty, to avoid it keeping the graphic mode ("purple
screen"), so please do this change as well.
