Public bug reported:

I have a Sony Vaio SA with Intel Core i7 and radeon hybrid graphics card

When booting my system I automatically run a script to turn off the Radeon
(which should save me some battery, and reduces heat) with:
sudo echo OFF > /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch

this works out perfectly OK.

However, when I resume from standby, echo /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch
tells me the radeon is still turned of, but I can see (due to heat &
powerconsumption that it actually is back on again, see also:
http://www.33dots.com/index.php/linux/hybrid-graphics-in-sony-vaio-and-fedora.html
 )
So the trick is/should be to explicitly turn it ON and than back OFF again, by
calling

sudo echo ON > /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch
sudo echo OFF > /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch

and this is what resulted in this error report. (On Ubuntu 10.04 with
3.0.5 kernel this resulted in a frozen (although pretty hot) laptop)
