This has been happening to clones of ubuntu namely Linux Mint 10 and 11.I have
succeeded in installing Mint 11 by a work around at the live CD stage by
installing Debian Installer software via synaptic after which the installation
was uneventful.Hope to get an OK by repeating the process in the present case
too.The question will be why I am installing this earlier version of Ubuntu.I
have found
that the newer Mints have bug ridden Sane which interferes with my CanoScan640P
working.Had earlier found this distro had trouble free sane after following
guidelines from Ubuntu on installing parallel port scanners.I have sent bug
reports of my failed efforts to Sane hope to follow up with a success report
after installing this version of Ubuntu.Regards.
