did you submit it as a bug? i gave up after 800 attempts to do all sorts
of fixes, new installs, all sorts of things. MAYBE 11.10 release will
have a fix.

I have this bug too

also here I realised this bug existed after upgrading a chrooted natty
that just doesn't boot since a few months

the boot process stalls after the initrd is loaded, and I have just a
blinking cursor
