The sourcecode [0].

Thank you for the thorough testing.

What is the content of /usr/share/hugin/data/default.setting on your
machine?

There is a discrepancy with the above list and what I would expect based on
/usr/share/hugin/data/default.setting as installed by the package hugin-data
[1]. When I download and examine [2], it lists CPFind as expected.

Also when I track it's whole way from the source code [3] and its
copied/renamed instance [4]. For Unix/Linux systems including Ubuntu this
happens on line 32. I can't explain the discrepancy between your observation
and the package.

You are experiencing an error indeed, and I would like to be able to offer you
a better explanation than simply pointing out to the discrepancy.

[5] is where it is used and there is even a hard-coded fall back to
CPFind.

If "Load Defaults" helped, it is confirmation that
/usr/share/hugin/data/default.setting on your machine includes CPFind. Makes
the discrepancy even more mysterious to me.

While I understand that Hugin did not work on your end, I can't find anything
that indicates a bug on Hugin's end. This has been out "in the wild" for more
than half a year now and I would expect many more reports if this was a bug in
the Hugin codebase or in the Hugin package on Natty.

I might have overlooked some obscure condition in CPDetectorConfig.cpp. But
at the moment I am inclined to come to the conclusion that what you are
experiencing is specific to your configuration.

It does work. So far I have not seen other reports of this issue; and the
fact that you could fix it by hitting the "Load Defaults" button is a strong
indication for a misconfiguration on your end rather than a bug in Hugin or in
the Natty package.

All I can say is happy stitching, now that the problem is fixed.
