This is a very big issue here. We're moving away from Firefox to Opera
and Chromium because of it.

When someone a) logs in, b) leaves with the Ubuntu computer "locked"
and then c) someone turns off the computer at the end of the day/week,
the .parentlock and lock reside on the NFS.

So, when they get back, Firefox will NEVER work again. And I have to go
in and delete those two files. It's extremely irritating, and it also
affects Thunderbird.

They're not crash proof.

Bad design.

So yes, it should be a softlock, where you can say "I want to start Firefox
ANYWAY".
