Public bug reported:

I have onboard sound (via82xx) and an PCI soundcard, an Audigy SE
(ca0106)

I disabled onboard sound in my BIOS, yet it's still enabled.

Someone on the forum pointed me to a quick workaround:

sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base
add the following lines:
options snd-via82xx index=0
options snd-ca0106 index=1

The card with index 0 is used.

** Affects: Ubuntu

         Status: Unconfirmed
