Thanks for your help and suggestions. It sounds like this diagonal lines issue was experienced by at least one other person with this printer. (From a comment here: http://www.openprinting.org/printer/Samsung/Samsung-CLP-325w). They don't say, but were probably using the foomatic driver, as that is the one that was, for me, chosen by default by Ubuntu.
I ended up installing the Samsung proprietary driver, which works ok so far. Images were printed without ugly lines. What little text I printed looked bad though. I can't say whether any driver is better at various tasks than the others without doing more printing. (A warning: The Samsung installation program silently messed with some permissions in my firefox profile folder.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/817296 Title: Diagonal streaks when printing some images To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/foo2zjs/+bug/817296/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
