Mark: I'll change the status to Confirmed then, which I _think_ will
keep the bug from expiring.

Let's treat the wireless and wired networking problems as separate
issues as now. I.e., we'll only be looking at the wireless issues on
this bug, unless we later determine that the problem is more generic.
Because I suspect that if there was such a severe regression in network
performance overall there would have been a much bigger outcry by now :)

Also, if possible, I'd suggest a more controlled test done on your
internal network. Here's one way. Set up two machines on your own
network, a "server" and a "client" (the client being the machine whose
performance you want to test). The server should use a wired connection
with known good performance. On the server run 'iperf -s'. On the client
run 'iperf -i30 -t600 -c ip'. This will run a test for 10 minutes (-t600
means 600 seconds, you can adjust this if you wish) and print an
intermediate result every 30 seconds (-t30, you can also tweak this). It
will also print an overall result at the end showing the average
throughput. So you can get an idea of the overall speed as well as how
much the performance is varying during the test.
