Public bug reported:

the letter ẞ (upper case eszett) is usually written when ß (lower case
eszett) is pressed while caps lock enabled. This does not work in qt4
windows, e.g. in a text input, nothing is written there. Pasting does
work, as does writing ẞ in other toolkit's windows (gtk, tkinter, gecko)
and even on VTs.

In case you don't have a german keyboard around, ß on german keyboards
is where - is on us keyboards.
