my harddrive crashed and I got it replaced. the clicking sound is gone now, 
hdparm -B is still 128.
I'm not saying that because I think ubuntu killed my harddrive, but because the 
entire system, hardware and software, is the same except for a different 
harddrive model.

it is now a Seagate ST9320325AS (no clicking sound)
it was before a Western Digital WD3200BPVT (clicking sound)
