I confess I hadn't, until now, tried an exhaustive set of approaches to get the feisty cd to boot. Anyway, the short story is that nothing I know of can make the stock cd boot. I set the kernel parameters to "agp=off s" and removed "quiet splash --". This still crashed, although less mysteriously. I also tried safe graphics mode. It failed. I do think that until the modules agpart and intel_agp can be defeated, there is no hope for this hardware and the official cd. Fortunately, I'm pretty happy with dapper, so I'll wait until you Ubuntu guys sort it out. :-) -- al -- nvidia gf7300 feisty install cd fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/111057 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
