Hi, Thanks so much for your report.
I have confirmed this on an Oneiric Alpha3 installation, this is due to the fact that gstreamer-plugins-good no longer contains the libgstgconfelements.so library, that enables access to gnome-configured default audio and video sources and sinks. Apparently they are being phased out in favor of gsettings-compliant elements, thus, for instance, in jobs/audio.txt the reference to gconfaudiosink should be eventually changed to gsettingsaudiosink. See for instance bug 822205 that affects the Totem media player. For now a workaround is to install gstreamer0.10-gconf which reenables the gconf elements, but by Oneiric release time the tests should use whichever of gconf or gsettings sinks are in the default install. Setting importance: High as it has "moderate impact on a large portion of Ubuntu users" (potentially everyone trying to run Checkbox will run into this error) - and failures due to problems in the tests themselves are also to be considered high priority. Thanks! ** Changed in: checkbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/821135 Title: gst_pipeline_test crashed with GError in main(): no element "gconfvideosink" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/checkbox/+bug/821135/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
