I have to say I'm quite disappointed nothing happened here since may. I'm not questionning your decision to move the buttons to the left. It's Canonical's design decision. But would it be so difficult to make it possible for experienced users to change them back to the right consistently? This would not affect regular users at all much like gconf-settings don't confuse users that don't want to know about them. And heavy users (like me) would be a bit happpier again.
