I suspect it's a linker problem that only occurs when the generated code
lines up just right.  A small change in compiler gives a small change in
code which hides the linker problem.

I'll see about reproducing that particular compiler.  I think I've got a
BeagleBoard here somewhere which should boot a Overo MLO.
