Public bug reported:
qtractor version 0.4.8-1 has a bug in its recording functionality which
causes it to randomly drop frames, causing the recording to go further
and further out of sync with the rest of the song, as you get further
and further into the song.
This renders the qtractor version which is shipped with ubuntu and
ubuntu studio useless for its main purpose: recording studio work.
I have compiled qtractor 0.5.0 locally and confirmed that the bug does
not exist, and that qtractor 0.5.0 performs its primary functions
acceptably.
Please quickly update the qtractor package in ubuntu 11.04 to the newest
0.5.0 version.
