Public bug reported:

Byobu appears to be creating a new session on each launch, rather than
connecting to an existing session.
For example, when I run byobu after SSH'ing to my laptop, I get this:

valorin@gandalf:~$ byobu

Byobu sessions...

  10. Create a new Byobu session
  11. Run a shell without Byobu (/bin/bash)

Choose 1-11 [1]:

The only thing I can think which might be causing it is I have configured my
Terminal to "Run command as a login shell" with byobu enabled, so it would
automatically start for me.
