** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xubuntu-restricted-extras

  In Xubuntu 11.04, xubuntu-restricted-extras doesn't contain a Java
Runtime Environment. Although it says in the description in Synaptic,
  that it does.

Concerning the choice of Java type, I think Sun Java would be the most
appropriate. It works in more circumstances than openJDK. Apart from
that: Sun Java is restricted, and openJDK is not. This is after all the
  *restricted* extras....
+
+ WORKAROUND:
+ Please add Partner source to your software lists, then install java from that
repository.
