Public bug reported:
I cannot neither install nor run Ubuntu-7.04 desktop on Intel dual-core
machine (Pentium-D 915, i865 chipset, 512MB RAM) when APIC enabled in
BIOS. (Computer deadly hangs on starting X).
If APIC disabled, the system runs normally but sees only ONE processor.
Dmesg says “SMP motherboard not detected” .
