Public bug reported:
I run Linux MINT 10 and 11. I use 11 mostly but it has many bugs where
10 seems more stable. Mint 11 needs a password to log in but 10 is set
to log in automatically. The installations of each were done
independently with the other hard drives unplugged during the
installations. I choose which drive to boot by changing the setting in
the BIOS. Now when I try to start up in 10 I get, "(Process:275) Glib-
WARNING **: getpwuid_r(): failed due to unknown user id (0)" and can't
log in. Sometimes I am able to get to a prompt that asks for my username
then password but it does not accept it. I have a feeling that it has
something to do with the fact that I do not use MINT 10 daily. Please
help, my wife will kill me if I need to spend more time on my PC then
the little bit of time I do. Thank you.
