Hi Lennart, Yes, this is in the release notes for Natty Narwhal:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NattyNarwhal/ReleaseNotes The -evdev driver no longer provides middle mouse button emulation. 2-button mice that need this functionality are quite rare these days. The emulation mode causes a laggy pointer in cases where emulation is not needed, so this change improves responsiveness for all users. If you have a 2-button mouse that needs this, please see the directions for creating a 2-button mouse quirk. (710762) https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Quirks#2-button%20Mice See the directions at the bottom of the above page for how to request enablement of the 3rd mouse button. You can skip step #3 since this bug report is already open, but make sure to include the info from step #4. ** Package changed: xserver-xorg-input-mouse (Ubuntu) => xserver-xorg- input-evdev (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-input-evdev (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-input-evdev (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/816331 Title: Third mouse-button emulation not working anymore To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-evdev/+bug/816331/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
