Public bug reported: Could not initialize the package information
An unresolvable problem occurred while initializing the package information. Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the following error message: 'E:Encountered a section with no Package: header, E:Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/fr.archive.ubuntu .com_ubuntu_dists_natty_main_binary-i386_Packages, E:The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.' I did this according to some suggestions on the ubuntu forum: ~$ lsb_release -a; echo; cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/getdeb.list No LSB modules are available. Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description: Ubuntu 11.04 Release: 11.04 Codename: natty cat: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/getdeb.list: No such file or directory This problem occured after I tried, unsuccessfully, to install XBMC according step by step the following guide: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Installing_XBMC_for_Linux#Ubuntu But I couldn't continue after the third line. Thank you for your help. I really want to update my system but because of this problem I can't do it. ** Affects: apt (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/830296 Title: cat: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/getdeb.list: No such file or directory To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt/+bug/830296/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
