I have a serial port adapter which conflicts with brltty udev rules. Got
it from a local store (sorry - info is in Finnish):

If I comment out the following:
#SYSFS{idVendor}=="0403", SYSFS{idProduct}=="6001",
RUN+="/lib/brltty/brltty.sh -b ht -d usb:"
in /etc/udev/rules.d/85-brltty.rules the serial port adapter works just
fine.
