Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: synaptic

"Edit / Mark Packages by Task" does not allow the user to uninstall the
exact set of packages they installed; after unticking a checkbox, the
"OK" button is grayed out. The user expects to be able to uninstall the
set of packages they installed in the same way, but this doesn't work;
if they do not know what packages are installed, the user is unable to
roll back the installation.
