Yes, it can be reproduced on my V130.
But I don't think it's a kernel issue, I can use touchpad under lightdm while
logging in.
And insert psmouse with proto=bare will use basic ps/2 mouse mode, that will
not have scroll function and extra buttons.
Moreover, boot up by Natty kernel, 2.6.38-8.42, with Oneiric rootfs, the
situation is the same, the touchpad works under lightdm, but stop
working after entering Unity.
BTW, the touchpad device node, /dev/input/event9 is working, you can observe it
keeping sending events while you touch the touchpad by the following command
sudo hexdump /dev/input/event9
