Maybe this info will be useful for us...
This is the standard situation on my vaio sb:

$ xinput --list
⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜   ↳ PS/2 Mouse                                id=12   [slave  pointer  (2)]
⎜   ↳ AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint                  id=13   [slave  pointer  (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3 [master keyboard (2)]
    ↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5 [slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Video Bus                                 id=6    [slave  keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Sony Vaio Keys id=7 [slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Video Bus                                 id=8    [slave  keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Power Button                              id=9    [slave  keyboard (3)]
    ↳ USB 2.0 Camera                            id=10   [slave  keyboard (3)]
    ↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard id=11 [slave keyboard (3)]

I've attached the output of the commands "xinput list-props 12" and
"xinput list-props 13"

Particularly:

$ xinput list-props 12
        Device Enabled (126):   1
......
$ xinput list-props 13
        Device Enabled (126):   1
......

Hope you will resolve this frustrating bug...
