OK, I just hit a memtest86+ upgrade error while upgrading from maverick to natty:
Setting up memtest86+ (4.10-1.1ubuntu1) ... Generating grub.cfg ... loop: can't get info on device /dev/loop0: No such device or address /usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: unknown filesystem. dpkg: error processing memtest86+ (--configure): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 No apport report written because MaxReports is reached already Later, the same error about /dev/loop0 borks the grub install on this command: /usr/sbin/grub-probe --device-map="/boot/grub/device.map" --target=fs -v /boot/grub My /boot/config-2.6.35-30-generic contains "CONFIG_BLK_DEV_LOOP=y" I worked around the /dev/loop0 error by mounting a loopback filesystem while running grub-probe. Earlier, I had mounted a loopback fs but had it unmounted before the upgrade process. Hope this helps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/247387 Title: package memtest86+ 1.70-3ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/memtest86+/+bug/247387/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
