Please remove the package "packagekit-backend-apt" and install
"packagekit-backend-aptcc" instead.
The Python APT backend is completely unsupported and will be removed very soon.
(And unfortunately, if you're experiencing this error on Lucid, I can't do very
much to solve it. Maybe the APTcc backend available in Lucid will work)
