I have the same problem in my fstab was 
/dev/hdc /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto 0 0
then I change /dev/hdc to /dev/scd0
but mount doesnt working. 
When I try manually to mount this happened
$ sudo mount /dev/scd0
mount: block device /dev/scd0 is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/scd0,
missing codepage or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so

then i try $ dmesg | tail 
[ 4441.868625] end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 64
[ 4441.940601] sr 1:0:0:0: SCSI error: return code = 0x08000002
[ 4441.940609] sr0: Current: sense key: Hardware Error
[ 4441.940612] Additional sense: Logical unit communication CRC error

[ 4457.012367] end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 64
[ 4457.012486] isofs_fill_super: bread failed, dev=sr0, iso_blknum=16, block=16
