Public bug reported:

I have downloaded the needed packages from upgrading from a computer
different from the actual one that I want to upgrade. I used the
synaptic tool "Generate a download script" and I downloaded the files
from another computer and copied them to /var/cache/apt/archives. Now
the update checker that is by default in the tray says that I cannot
upgrade because there are no signing keys to validate packages. How can
I make?

** Affects: Ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
