So the current situation is that the same Live CD shows 2 very different
interfaces depending on the hardware. It currently fails back to Gnome
2, which is guaranteed to confuse new users that are not aware of the
recent transition to the Unity shell.
So Unity 2D should be bundled with Ubuntu, and should be default when
Unity 3D is unavailable.
