Public bug reported:

On new installs of this weekend it appears indicator-session uses 
software-center, which while still default installed, won't open.
(Not sure here if /usr/bin/software-center should work in a unity session & 
open the old software center - it doesn't

If I switch indicator-session to using software-center-gtk3, (in source,
device-menu-mgr.c ), it then works fine

(also to note that on line #506 you use centre, not center
