This appears to have been caused by having opera installed (which never did work). After removing opera and then openoffice ia32 libs I managed to get an install.
Perhaps not related: I then had to change the driver in xorg.conf from nvidia to nv, in order for X to start. Still it doesn't get the resolution correct (uses 1280x1024, but only 1600x1200 is configured). Also twice Xorg has run at 99% CPU and completely unresponsive from local machine (including ctrl-alt-backspace and ctrl-alt-f1), requiring a sudo kill -9 from an ssh connection. -- x11-common prevents upgrade to 7.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/110692 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
