I'm also affected by this bug, since a few days ago. I don't know which update broke the keyboard for me. I don't know how keyboard layouts work in recent versions of X.org, it's driving me crazy. It looks like magic to me, there's nothing in /etc/X11/xkb, I used to know that the keyboard maps were there. I'm unable to keep up with the changes in a typical Linux distribution over a few years. Improvements and changes get applied very quickly!, but I fail to understand it anymore. This isn't the Linux of the 90s anymore.
