I was correct about the panel still functioning correctly, the only
noticeable error is that the clock shows [Invalid UTF-8].

Also, in retrospect, I probably should have filed a new bug report so
apport-collect can do it's job. If you desire that I do that it's no
problem, I can simply boot to the live desktop again and see if the
behavior can be reproduced. I'm performing one installation test now and
I have at least two more to complete.
