I have the same problem, but have a workaround. My onboard via82xx sound card is disabled in the bios but gets loaded anyway. It does not function as it is disabled in the bios. I do not know if this is ubuntu specific or upstream.
To work around update your /etc/modprob.d/blacklist and add the line: blacklist snd_via82xx That will prevent ubuntu from loading the module. Sound works alot better as I do not have to set the default sound card every boot. ** Summary changed: - Random soundcard on boot (Ubuntu 7.04) + Bios disabled soundcard snd_via82xx is loaded anyway but does not function. ** Tags added: module sound -- Bios disabled soundcard snd_via82xx is loaded anyway but does not function. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/110987 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
