Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libsafe

Hello everybody,
I have libsafe installed and configured to fire a mail whenever an access
violation event occurs. I recently installed Amarok 1.4.3 from the
dapper-backports repository. The new Amarok has scripting support and one of
the script, 'Lyrics: LyricWiki v2.0' which depends on 'Ruby 1.8' happens to
fire that dreaded mail with the termination of /usr/bin/ruby1.8

This is how I installed libsafe 2.0-16-6:

sudo apt-get install libsafe ld.so.preload-manager

Added the line: '/lib/libsafe.so.2' to /etc/ld.so.preload -- as described in
/usr/share/doc/libsafe/libsafe.8.html for set-uid programs as well.
Changed the line 'none' to 'root' in /etc/libsafe.notify. I have postfix
installed with root -> nix (my username) in /etc/aliases(.db).

This is how I installed Amarok 1.4.3:

sudo apt-get install amarok

certain dependencies were asked for. I approved the install anyway.

This is how the access violation occurs:

When a song is playing in Amarok, clicking the sidebar Context>Lyrics
shows that no lyrics script is running. Clicking on any of the available
script results in the said mail with the termination of
/usr/bin/ruby1.8. Amarok however continues to play remaining completely
immune to the situation.

Here are the contents of the mail received from libsafe:
