Hi maverick820, The kernel oops you are getting here, are you able to readily reproduce it? If so, I noticed a patch we've pulled in from the latest v3.0.4 upstream stable kernel that might interesting to test:
commit b3ff2fd377a0b593678af0082b6a2e4ecc3eec84 Author: Steve French <[email protected]> Date: Thu Aug 18 04:41:55 2011 +0000 possible memory corruption on mount commit 13589c437daf4c8e429b3236c0b923de1c9420d8 upstream. CIFS cleanup_volume_info_contents() looks like having a memory corruption problem. When UNCip is set to "&vol->UNC[2]" in cifs_parse_mount_options(), it should not be kfree()-ed in cleanup_volume_info_contents(). I can build you a test kernel but it would only be useful if you are able to reproduce the oops in questions and therefore confirm it's resolved with the test kernel. Thanks. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/837205 Title: general protection fault: 0000 [#1] SMP To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/837205/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
