Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xchat

I have specified my NickServ password in the network dialog box but when
I connect to the server I get "NICKSERV :Unknown command". I created a
user command called nickserv, which does "msg nickserv &2", but that
doesn't help. I surmise that XChat is actually doing "/quote nickserv
identify ****".

On another network I use, it works fine, so I gather some servers
implement the nickserv command and some do not. This server/network
configuration worked in Edgy (2.6.6) before upgrading to Feisty (2.8.0).
